About the Role:

As a Software Development Engineer at Jumbotail, you will be part of the company’s initial core engineering team. You will play a pivotal role in designing and developing Jumbotail’s marketplace platforms from the ground up. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex technical challenges and develop systems that will fundamentally reshape India’s food and grocery supply chains.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in designing and developing Jumbotail’s end-to-end marketplace platforms.
• Build scalable backend systems for various business domains, including customer and seller applications, brand management platforms, demand generation tools, logistics and supply chain systems, credit platforms, and cross-platform software components.
• Translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
• Work on designing and implementing low-latency, high-availability, internet-scale web services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and launch new product features.
• Own software design and development processes end-to-end, from requirements gathering to production deployment.
• Champion best practices in software engineering, including agile development, continuous integration, and test-driven development.
• Apply data-driven decision-making in product development and engineering solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and help cultivate a high-performing engineering culture.
• Attract top talent and contribute to building a world-class engineering team.

Requirements:

• BE/BTech degree in Computer Science from a top engineering institute (e.g., IITs, NITs, BITS, IISc).
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong command of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
• Proficiency in developing production-grade software using Java.
• Expertise in building scalable systems, web services, and distributed architectures.
• Solid understanding of service-oriented architectures, databases (both SQL and NoSQL), and cloud technologies.
• Ability to translate complex business problems into technical designs and solutions.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including agile practices, scrums, and continuous integration.
• High level of ownership and accountability for end-to-end software development.
• Ability to build chaos-resilient systems and design for scale.
• Data-driven approach to engineering and product development.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering a strong engineering culture.
